Influenced by the Voyageur heritage of Northern Minnesota, our Gunflint knives get their style from the river trade knives carried by fur traders. These knives trace their origins to imported European cutlery designs and were a general purpose knife used for a multitude of tasks on the frontier; from prepping food to carving canoe paddles. Our modern versions are well suited to the kitchen and while we wouldn't reccommend carving a paddle with one, you probably could. Our Gunflint knives are handled in Black Walnut with powder horn butt caps and nickel-silver pins and spacers.
